A major pride of Makó is the Hagymatikum Thermal Bath, which was opened in 2012 and built according to the designs of Imre Makovecz. The bath is equipped with numerous pools, wellness and medical departments, a vast sauna world, kids’ world, restaurant, beauty and natural medical facilities.
With its unique interiors and its artistic roof structure the building is a masterpiece of organic architecture in Hungary. The healing water of the thermal bath is in itself worth trying, but the extraordinary in- and outdoor pools, and various programmes may also be attractive for anybody seeking physical and mental recovery.
Thanks to the close cooperation between the bath and the Hotel Glorius, hotel guests are free to visit the Hagymatikum, and certain special offer packages are dedicated to them exclusively.
The healing effect of Mako’s thermal water has been known for a long while by the inhabitants of the so called Onion City. It’s being used for the healing of illnesses and due to the heavy agricultural work , it has been used for decades. Make use of the healing powers of the thermal water in Mako.The water of our indoor thermal pool is a natural remedy for musculoskeletal and joint diseases,inflammation and rheumatic complaints. The water rays from the bottom of the pool will help the blood circulation of the waist, neck and back to your liking.
Maros medicinal mud is a natural medicine that is excellent for the treatment of locomotor and rheumatological diseases, which has been proven to be excellent for the post-treatment of lumbago, limb fractures, and for the treatment of gynecological chronic inflammations. The Hagymatikum spa in Makó uses Maros mud together with Makó medicinal water and other medical treatments as a complex therapy. Its radioactivity is between the Hévíz and Kolop mud. It also contains specific proportions of quartz, halloysite, calcite and feldspar. In the healing mud, iron and sulfate form a compound that is absorbed from the heated mud through the skin and exerts its effect in the deeper layers. It invigorates blood circulation, accelerates the emptying of toxins, thereby reducing pain and improving movement. Mud rolling can be applied to small or large body surfaces and the whole body.
CHLIDREN’S EMPIRE
To the delight of the little ones and their parents, the Hagymatikum's Children's World, rises to a unique level in our country, each detail of it contributing to the creation of a familial atmosphere. The Children's World, placed inside the spa center, offers entertainment for the entire family and reproduces in a unique way the atmosphere of Robin Hood's Sherwood forest full of aquatic and land elements, a pool with a slide and one for bathing the very young children, but they can use the playroom, too. Furthermore, the guests can make use of the indoor sports equipment for free (billiards, table football, table tennis).
SAUNAS’ WORLD
The Saunas' World of our spa center is on European level and those who seek relaxation can enjoy themselves in 9 different saunas every day of the week, even more times a day. Here they have the possibility of taking part on special aromatic sessions, where sauna experts use different air-moving techniques, these procedures having as result an even better elimination of toxins from the body. For a perfect enjoyment of the Saunas' World, our guests have the possibility of refreshing in a pool with cold water, of using the crushed ice disperser, a multifunctional shower and a sudden cooling barrel shower.
